Does Expanding the War in Afghanistan Make Sense?

The war cannot be won without a permanent US occupation of Afghanistan. The Taliban is mostly Pakistani, and Pakistan has 160 million people. The US, in terms of money, cannot afford another occupation. Money doesn't grow on trees.
