I was told by my docter i have sciatica,?

i had , an back xRAY, now i have to get a mri she put me on prenoisone, but my pain is still their. it felt ok except for the numbness for like 3 days , but then 4 days of standing on my leg for 8 hours. did me in , im guessing, did anyone out there have this problem with sciatica, and what did they do to correct it, i need to work and standing ism painfull. some people say chiropractor, . can anyone . help me.
